Alloway Burns Club Choir

Picture of choir at St Andrew’s Night - Bill Cormie

The choir was formed in 1999 primarily to perform Burns songs at the annual Anniversary Dinner.

Most years six songs are chosen by the choir, often from the work of Burns but with the occasional Scottish song from other sources.  In some cases the pieces are arranged specially for the choir and in this case the harmonies are linked to this page.

The choir is enthusiastically led by Jean Stewart and currently Morag Walton accompanies the choir on the keyboard. In 2005 and 2006 the choir entered the Ayr Music Festival and for their 2006 performance were awarded the Bardrochet Cup.

This year the choir performed at the St Andrew’s Night dinner and sang the following items:-

My Fair and Rare One

The Earl o’ Murray

The Piper of Dundee

A Croon

Faithful Johnny
